The more time I spend on the Sportster, the more I'm enjoying it. I took a couple of hours today and blasted up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton Ski Resort before taking a short loop around the city.
This bike carves up the canyon effortlessly—and is simply a lot of fun to ride.
Like I've said before, the 1200C isn't a Japanese sport bike and doesn't have quite the torque of my twin cam, but it does have plenty of power for a blast up a narrow canyon road.
I have to admit, I find myself riding this bike more aggressively than the Road King and was probably 15 to 20 MPH faster going up the canyon than I would normally do. The place I really noticed the difference between the two bikes was coming down the canyon—too bad there were other cars on the road.
